Troop 402 serves Ellijay in beautiful Gilmer County, Georgia.  We live in a scouting paradise in the southern Appalachian mountains.   We are grateful to live in a community that is very supportive of the scouting movement.

Troop 402 meets every Monday night at 6:30 pm at the Gilmer County Scout Hut located on McCutchen Street in downtown Ellijay.  We are chartered by the Ellijay United Methodist Church, but all boys of all faiths are welcome at our troop.

In an effort to keep up with the times, we have redesigned our website.  We hope you find all the information contained herein useful.

If you are interested in signing up for scouts, you can drop by at any of our meeting days and meet with the Scoutmaster.  If you would like to just find out more about our troop just contact the scoutmaster by clicking on the "contact us" link at the top of this page.

It is not necessary for you to have been a cub scout to join boy scouts - or to have completed the cub scout program. You only have to be between the ages of 11 and 17, or be 10 and have completed the 5^th grade, OR be 10 years of age and have received the Arrow of Light Award to join a troop.
